PRESS RELEASE: James Andrews Introduces Social People and Famous PPL

03.03.2011– James Andrews, co-founder of Everywhere, the Atlanta based social PR firm and first agency to win a social media Guinness World Record for their #BEATCANCER campaign, recently announced his departure from the agency and the formation of Social People (www.socialpeople.tv), a hybrid agency that integrates Marketing, PR, Advertising and Content Development. Based in both Los Angeles and Atlanta, Social People helps clients engage with their audience using social technologies and non-traditional tactics. Currently, the agency’s client roster includes major players in the automotive, non-profit, health, television and entertainment sectors.

In addition to Social People, James has launched a celebrity representation division, Famous PPL, which manages digital and social media assets on behalf of clients. The group operates as both a producer and steward of celebrity communities and an agent pairing clients to branding partnerships and opportunities. With fitness and entertainment icon Jane Fonda as one of Famous PPL’s leading clients, Andrews launched both her blog and Twitter account, allowing Fonda to inspire Baby Boomers everywhere to embrace social media. “My well noted work with Jane Fonda has provided valuable insights on the opportunity to help celebrities with their digital and social real estate while also creating brand partnerships,” said James of his work with Fonda. Famous PPL also works with music producer Jermaine Dupri and his social network, Global14.com, guiding his vision to position it as a premier online destination for urban youth.

Prior to Social People and Everywhere, James was a Vice President at Ketchum Digital, directing global social media brand strategies for clients including Monster.com, FedEx, GeekSquad, Nokia and Wendy’s.

Social People has already begun to make its mark in the social media community. Notably, Social People supported The Recording Academy's social media efforts for the 53rd GRAMMY AWARDS. The Recording Academy is doing a stellar job at merging social media and television to drive tune-in and their best ratings in 10 years.
